Study Maps 248 White Phosphorus Strikes in Lebanon, Warns of Lasting Harm
A new investigation has documented 248 Israeli strikes using white phosphorus in southern Lebanon. These attacks occurred between October 2023 and November 2024. Open-source researcher Ahmad Baydoun conducted the study. He warns of serious and persistent dangers from the chemical substance. White phosphorus can cause severe burns and is a threat to public health. Its use also risks long-term damage to farmland and the environment in the region. The research highlights ongoing international concern over the munitions' impact. Israel has not yet commented on the report's findings.
