New Search for MH370 Wreckage to Begin in December
A private company will resume the deep-sea hunt for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 later this year. The Malaysian government has hired the robotics firm Ocean Infinity for a new search mission. The operation is set to begin on December 30. It will focus on locating the aircraft's wreckage within a strict 55-day timeframe. Malaysia will pay Ocean Infinity $70 million only if the mission successfully finds the missing plane. This "no find, no fee" contract model was used in a previous search by the same company. Flight MH370 disappeared in March 2014 with 239 people on board. Despite one of the largest searches in aviation history, the main wreckage has never been found.
