Hong Kong firefighters rescued two construction workers trapped in a tilting gondola high on a luxury residential tower on Tuesday afternoon.
The workers were stranded for over an hour after the suspended platform malfunctioned and tilted sideways. They were attached to the exterior of Tower 8 at The Belcher's, a high-rise complex on Pok Fu Lam Road.
Police said they received an emergency call at 2:50 p.m. from a building security guard. Firefighters then conducted the mid-air rescue operation.
The two workers were safely brought to the ground. Authorities have not released the cause of the gondola's malfunction.
