Former EU Foreign Policy Chief Detained in Training Contract Probe

Italian authorities detained Federica Mogherini on Tuesday as part of a fraud investigation. Mogherini, who served as the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs from 2014 to 2019, is now the head of the College of Europe. The investigation centers on suspected fraud in contracts for training future European diplomats. The probe is examining the awarding of these training contracts. Both institutions involved have confirmed their cooperation with the ongoing judicial process.
