Sudanese Medics Report Child Killed in RSF Strike on El-Fasher

A medical aid group reported that four civilians, including a child, died in an attack in El-Fasher on Tuesday. The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) carried out the strike, according to the statement. The Sudan Doctors' Union stated the attack caused "numerous casualties." It did not provide a precise total. The city is the last major army stronghold in the Darfur region. The union urgently called for the creation of safe corridors. These protected routes would allow civilians to evacuate from the besieged city. Intense fighting between the RSF and the Sudanese army has trapped hundreds of thousands there. The conflict in Sudan began in April 2023 between the national army and the paramilitary RSF. It has triggered a severe humanitarian crisis and widespread displacement.
