Former President Donald Trump says he has spoken with the mother of a wounded National Guardsman. He shared that she insists her son will survive after being shot near the White House.
The incident occurred on July 14th. A gunman opened fire near the White House perimeter, wounding Staff Sergeant Andrew Wolfe of the D.C. National Guard.
Sergeant Wolfe remains in critical condition. Medical staff are continuing to treat his injuries.
Trump relayed the mother's message of hope during a recent public appearance. He stated, "His mother told me he’s going to make it."
Authorities have not released further details on Wolfe’s medical status. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
