Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa chaired a preliminary meeting on Tuesday between the state-owned Syrian Petroleum Company (SPC) and the American energy firm Chevron. The talks focused on potential cooperation for oil and gas exploration off Syria’s coastline.
The meeting included U.S. Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrack and Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani. The head of the SPC also attended.
The discussion explored joint opportunities in the energy sector. No specific agreements were announced following the preliminary talks.
