SpaceX has completed its 60th launch of the year, marking a new pace record for the company. A Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, carrying another batch of Starlink internet satellites into orbit.
This mission adds to SpaceX's rapidly growing Starlink constellation. The network now consists of more than 9,000 active satellites circling the Earth.
The frequent launches demonstrate SpaceX's focus on building its global broadband service. The company uses reusable rockets, which allows for a high launch frequency and reduced costs.
The expanding Starlink constellation aims to provide high-speed internet to remote and underserved regions worldwide. However, astronomers have raised concerns about the satellites' brightness interfering with night sky observations.
