A 19-year-old man died after entering a lion enclosure at a zoo in Brazil. The incident, captured on widely shared video, occurred on Saturday.
The teenager reportedly told friends he dreamed of becoming a lion tamer before climbing the zoo's outer fence. He then crossed a second barrier to reach the lions' space.
Zoo staff immediately used fire extinguishers to try to distract the animals. However, a lion attacked the young man before responders could secure the area.
Emergency services pronounced the teenager dead at the scene. The zoo, located in the southern state of Paraná, has reopened following an investigation.
Authorities have not yet released the victim's name. They are investigating the circumstances that led to the breach of the enclosure's security barriers.
