Armed bandits have kidnapped at least 25 people in attacks on two communities in Nigeria's Kano state. The assaults targeted Unguwar Tsamiya in Faruruwa village and the nearby Dabawa community.
The attacks occurred in the Shanono Local Government Area, near the state's border. Two residents also sustained injuries during the incidents.
Local authorities have not yet released further details. The term "bandits" in Nigeria typically refers to heavily armed criminal groups who frequently carry out kidnappings for ransom in rural areas.
Security operations in the region are ongoing as officials work to secure the victims' release.
