Trade, Not Investment, on Table for Trump-Xi Summit
The upcoming meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and China's President Xi Jinping will focus narrowly on trade issues, America's top trade official said.
U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer stated the summit will not address investment programs. He called such discussions "premature" given the current state of relations.
Greer spoke at an event in Washington on Tuesday. His comments suggest a cautious approach. The limited agenda reflects a mutual reluctance to remove all economic constraints between the two nations.
The high-stakes summit is scheduled for next month.
