Trump's Ballroom Built with Donated Foreign Steel
The White House has secured a major donation of foreign-made steel for a new presidential ballroom. European steel giant ArcelorMittal is providing the material, valued at tens of millions of dollars.
The steel will be used to construct the ballroom at President Trump's Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida. The project has been a personal priority for the President.
This arrangement comes as the U.S. government enforces "Buy American" rules. These rules require federal projects to use domestically produced iron and steel. The ballroom project is privately funded, so these rules do not apply.
A White House spokesperson confirmed the donation. They stated the ballroom will be a venue for official diplomatic events.
