Two global logistics giants, Amazon and Prologis, have selected Okayama City as the location for a major new distribution center. This move establishes the area as a key logistics hub for western Japan.
The new facility will strengthen and speed up delivery networks across the region. Prologis, a world leader in logistics real estate, will develop and own the property. E-commerce titan Amazon will be the primary tenant, operating the distribution hub.
Okayama's central location on the Sanyo Shinkansen line and major highways was a decisive factor. This strategic position offers efficient access to major markets like Osaka, Hiroshima, and Fukuoka.
The project signals strong corporate confidence in the economic growth of western Japan. It is expected to bring significant investment and create new jobs to the Okayama area.
