A Washington family confronted an intruder inside their home while they slept. The man, identified by police as Charley Cooley, allegedly entered the house and was moving toward the children's bedrooms.
Kevin Root, the father, awoke and fought with the suspect until police arrived. The family reported the incident, stating their first thought was, "Somebody’s in our house."
Authorities have charged Cooley with felony robbery. This marks his second arrest this year, as he was previously identified as a repeat offender.
The family was unharmed following the confrontation. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
