Lebanese officials have condemned Israeli airstrikes that killed three paramedics in southern Lebanon, calling the attack a "flagrant crime."
The strikes occurred late Tuesday. Local emergency services reported that the same location was hit three times in quick succession, a tactic known as a "triple-tap."
The Lebanese Civil Defense stated that its paramedics were responding to an initial strike when they were targeted. Among those killed was a volunteer whose work was recently featured in a BBC news report.
Israel's military said it was reviewing the incident. It stated the strikes targeted a "terrorist" from Hezbollah, the Lebanese militant group, and did not mention the paramedics.
Cross-border fighting between Hezbollah and Israel has intensified since the war in Gaza began. The conflict has displaced tens of thousands of people on both sides of the frontier.
