A damaged school in Syria's Idlib province has reopened its doors to students. This follows repair work supported by Türkiye.
The school building had been hit during the long-running Syrian conflict. The reopening is a small but significant step toward normalcy for children in the region.
Hakan Cengiz, Türkiye's Consul General in the area, attended the ceremony. He stated that this effort represents the beginning of Syria's reconstruction. He also vowed that Türkiye would continue its aid for education in the region.
The project involved repairing physical damage to the school. This allows children to return to a safer learning environment after years of disruption.
Idlib remains the last major area held by groups opposed to the Syrian government. The ongoing conflict has devastated infrastructure, making such rebuilds rare.
