Displaced Syrian Christians Return to Village for First Mass in 13 Years

Residents of Al-Ghassaniyah village celebrated their first church service in 13 years this week. The community had been displaced from their homes in the Jisr al-Shughur area of Idleb. The divine liturgy took place at the Latin Church. Members of various Christian denominations attended the event. This service marks a symbolic step toward reviving the village's social and religious life. Father Khokaz Mesrob, the parish priest, spoke about the celebration. He told the SANA news agency that the event reflects important community values. The mass represents a significant moment for families returning after more than a decade of displacement.
