The European Union's aviation safety agency has extended a major flight advisory for most Middle Eastern and Gulf airspace. The warning, which now lasts until at least April 24, urges airlines to avoid the region due to ongoing safety risks.
The advisory applies to all flight levels—from low to high altitudes. It covers nearly the entire area. Only limited high-altitude corridors in parts of Saudi Arabia and Oman are currently excepted.
The extension signals continued concern over potential hazards to civilian aircraft. Airlines operating under EU safety rules are expected to follow the guidance. The situation will be reassessed before the new deadline.
