Toyota Expands Electric Vehicle Battery Warranty to 10 Years

Toyota is extending its warranty for electric vehicle (EV) batteries in several key markets. The new policy now covers batteries for up to 10 years or 1,000,000 kilometers, whichever comes first. This enhanced warranty applies to new battery electric vehicles (BEVs) sold in Asia and Latin America. It reflects the company's confidence in the long-term reliability of its battery technology. The warranty specifically guarantees that the battery will retain at least 70% of its health during the coverage period. This means the battery's capacity to hold a charge will not fall below 70% of its original state for a decade. This move aims to reassure potential buyers concerned about the high cost of battery replacement.
