Cameroon's President Paul Biya has appointed his son, Franck Biya, to the country's vice presidency.
The position itself is new. President Biya recreated the office on Saturday. It had been abolished in 1972.
At 91, President Biya is the world's oldest head of state. He has led the Central African nation for over 41 years. His son, Franck, is a businessman who has largely stayed out of public politics.
The appointment places Franck Biya first in line to the presidency under the constitutional order of succession.
