Two Ukrainian soldiers made history on Saturday. They faced off in what is being called the world's first competitive boxing match between double amputees. Both fighters, Artem Khrebet and Mykhailo Drobotenko, are veterans who lost limbs in the war. They boxed using prosthetic legs. The old boxing saying that "footwork decides a match" took on a completely new meaning. Organizers of the event emphasized that the veterans' participation is not about seeking sympathy. "We don’t want pity," is their stated message. Artem Khrebet was declared the winner of the groundbreaking bout.
