The Saturday People, a group seeking justice for victims of forced disappearances, have renewed their demand for answers in the case of Talat Türkoğlu.
Türkoğlu was detained and then disappeared in 1996. His fate remains unknown.
The group, also known as the Saturday Mothers, gathered to ask authorities about his whereabouts. They called on the state to stop using statutes of limitation—legal time limits for prosecution—as a shield.
"Do not hide behind the statute of limitations. Do not perpetuate impunity," the group stated.
The case highlights the ongoing struggle for accountability for disappearances that occurred in the 1990s.
