President Donald Trump has fired U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi. Her removal comes after a controversial year in her role.
Bondi recently managed the public release of court documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein case. These records, known as the "Epstein Files," list many associates of the convicted sex offender.
Her tenure also included failed efforts to prosecute political opponents of the President. These legal attempts did not result in charges.
The White House has not provided a specific reason for her dismissal. A permanent replacement has not yet been named.
