The Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust has strongly criticized the club's appointment of Roberto De Zerbi as head coach.
The Trust expressed "serious and far-reaching concerns" about De Zerbi's past support for Mason Greenwood. The new coach publicly backed Greenwood while both were at French club Marseille.
Greenwood, a Manchester United forward, had criminal charges against him, including attempted rape, dropped in 2023.
In a statement released after De Zerbi signed a five-year contract on Tuesday, the Trust said his arrival places a "heavy strain" on club unity. Tottenham is currently fighting to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
The fan group called on both the club and De Zerbi to publicly reaffirm their commitment to fan values. It listed these as "equality, respect, and integrity."
