Insilico Medicine has signed a major artificial intelligence (AI) drug development deal with pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly. The agreement could be worth up to $2.75 billion.
The Hong Kong-listed, U.S.-headquartered company announced the deal on Monday. Insilico will receive an immediate $115 million payment. It also licenses an early-stage drug pipeline to Eli Lilly.
The remaining billions depend on future success. Payments are tied to hitting specific development, regulatory, and sales targets. Insilico will also provide its AI platform services for joint research.
