Malaysian authorities have rescued an Indonesian domestic worker who endured years of unpaid labor and abuse. The Immigration Department found the woman hiding under a vehicle during a raid on a home in Batu Caves.
Immigration Director General Zakaria Shaaban confirmed the rescue in a public statement. He said the operation on Monday followed information from official sources.
“During the inspection, the woman was found hiding under a four-wheel drive vehicle at the premises,” Zakaria stated. Officials are now investigating the case further. The victim has been removed from the situation and is receiving care.
