Baidu-Backed DeepWay Skips Factories, Will License E-Truck Tech to Europe

DeepWay will license its electric powertrain and autonomous driving systems to European manufacturers instead of selling its own trucks there, according to statements reported by Reuters. The Chinese electric truck maker, backed by search giant Baidu, is pursuing an "asset-light" strategy that earns revenue from intellectual property rather than building and selling vehicles directly.
