World Peace Hinges on Gaza Ceasefire, Egypt and Kuwait Demand Permanent Truce
A growing international coalition is demanding an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, warning that continued Israeli aggression threatens global stability.
Turkey’s Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus told a NATO Parliamentary Summit in Istanbul that stopping Israeli attacks is essential for world peace. “Peace in the Middle East and for Palestinians is key to world peace,” he said [184497]. The call was echoed by Egypt and Kuwait’s top diplomats, who jointly demanded an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip during a meeting in Cairo. Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah stressed the need for full and sustained humanitarian access to the region and rejected any attempts to displace Palestinians from their land [179692].
China’s Foreign Minister also urged all parties to consolidate a comprehensive ceasefire in the Middle East, warning against actions that could reignite the conflict and stressing that lasting stability requires a sustained commitment to dialogue [180900]. Meanwhile, a Belgian Jewish organization called for international sanctions against Israel, arguing the country must face accountability for its actions and end what it described as impunity [184474].
The diplomatic pressure comes as a United Nations report notes that global instability, rising geopolitical tensions, and long-running conflicts are fueling the evolution of terrorism, and that international cooperation is critical to meet the new threat [185223].
