UNICEF: Gaza Truce Brings Food, But 100,000 Children Starving
A brief ceasefire in Gaza is allowing more food to arrive, but the crisis for children remains severe. A top UNICEF official warns that extreme hunger is still widespread.
"Despite the progress with food security, 100,000 children remain acutely malnourished and require long-term care," said the agency's Middle East director.
These children suffer from the most dangerous form of malnutrition. Their survival and recovery depend on sustained medical treatment and special foods.
The official called the current truce "fragile." He stated that while aid deliveries are a critical first step, only a lasting peace can truly end the emergency for Gaza's youngest residents.
