Sunderland and Bournemouth win big as Premier League race for Europe heats up
Sunderland and Bournemouth were the big winners on a day of twists and turns in the race for European spots.
At Hill Dickinson Stadium, Sunderland fans honored Bradley Lowery, the club’s former mascot who died from neuroblastoma in 2017 at age six. He would have turned 15 today. A minute’s applause will be held after 15 minutes of the game. Two fans, one from each club, cycled from the Stadium of Light to the ground to raise money for the Bradley Lowery Foundation.
At Old Trafford, two more goals were scored in a thrilling end-of-season game. Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes equaled a major Premier League record.
