**Swiss corruption case against jailed Uzbek star collapses**

Gulnara Karimova, the daughter of Uzbekistan’s former president, will not face trial in Switzerland. Judges dismissed the corruption case against her on procedural grounds. Karimova is currently serving a 13-year prison sentence in Uzbekistan. She was not allowed to attend the trial in Switzerland. Due to her absence, the Swiss court ruled it could not proceed with the case. The decision means the criminal proceedings are discontinued. No new trial date has been set.
