Pentagon reveals US$25 billion war cost in Iran
The two-month conflict with Iran has cost the United States about US$25 billion, a Pentagon official told lawmakers on Wednesday. Jules Hurst III, the Pentagon’s chief financial officer, provided the first official estimate during a House Armed Services Committee hearing.
Most of the spending went toward ammunition, Hurst said. The disclosure came as Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth defended a record US$1.5 trillion military budget, which faces criticism from Democrats.
