Man brings sister's corpse to bank to withdraw $300
A man in India carried his dead sister’s body into a bank after he struggled to withdraw money from her account. The incident took place in the city of Meerut, located in Uttar Pradesh state. The man, identified as 38-year-old Manoj Kumar, sought to access approximately 25,000 rupees, or about $300, from her savings.
Bank staff refused to release the funds without proper documentation for a deceased account holder. Kumar stated he had grown frustrated with the lengthy procedures required to claim the money. He then brought his sister’s body to the branch on a stretcher, hoping to force the transaction.
Police were called to the scene. They described the situation as “distressing.” Officials later confirmed that Kumar was unable to complete the withdrawal. Authorities are investigating the incident and have urged the public to follow legal processes for inheritance claims.
