March Madness to Expand to 76 Teams by 2027

The NCAA is planning to expand its March Madness basketball tournaments to 76 teams starting in 2027. Under the new format, the main bracket will add eight more at-large teams. At the same time, eight additional teams will be moved to the play-in round, increasing the total number of play-in games. The change aims to include more high-performing teams without lengthening the overall tournament schedule.
