French prosecutors announced Tuesday that they have opened an investigation into the reappearance of a website used to recruit strangers to rape a heavily sedated woman. The platform, called Coco, allowed Dominique Pelicot to find dozens of men to assault his wife, Gisèle, over several years. Authorities say the French-language site has been linked to a range of serious crimes, including child sexual abuse, rape, and murder. The platform was registered abroad and was shut down in June 2024. The new probe aims to determine how it has resurfaced and who is behind its continued operation.
