ICC Orders $8.5 Million for Victims of Malian Jihadist Leader
The International Criminal Court (ICC) on Tuesday ordered a former jihadist leader from Mali to pay €7.2 million ($8.5 million) in compensation to his victims. Al Hassan, a former senior militant, was found guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity in 2024. The compensation order aims to repair some of the harm suffered by those he targeted.
