Former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak has withdrawn his legal appeal against a court ruling that denied him permission to serve his prison sentence under house arrest, according to a report Wednesday. The withdrawal marks a significant setback for the disgraced ex-leader. In October, a court sentenced him to an additional 15 years in prison for his central role in the multi-billion-dollar 1MDB corruption scandal. Najib is already serving a 12-year sentence for related offenses.
