**TV's Hidden Violence: 97% of Shows Contain Psychological Abuse, Viewers Split**
A new study reveals that psychological violence is nearly universal in television series, present in 97% of shows analyzed. The research examined common abusive behaviors between characters, such as humiliation, threats, and emotional manipulation.
When asked about physical fight scenes, viewers were divided. 53% of participants said they would be disturbed by such violent content. However, a significant 41% stated they would not be bothered by it.
The findings highlight a disconnect between pervasive on-screen psychological abuse and audience sensitivity, which remains focused more on physical violence.
