Trump's 'Triumphal Arch' Plan Balloons, Alarming Its Own Creator
A proposed "triumphal arch" for a U.S. military veterans' project, initially suggested by a historian, has grown to an enormous scale under former President Donald Trump's direction.
The arch's planned size is now four times larger than the original idea. If built, it would stand 50% taller than the famous Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
The historian who first proposed the concept now says he is worried. He says the project's expansion follows a pattern he finds concerning.
The arch is part of a larger plan for a national garden to honor U.S. veterans. Reports state Trump directed advisors to make the arch much bigger.
