Second Woman Accuses Congressman Swalwell of Drugging, Rape
A second woman has publicly accused U.S. Congressman Eric Swalwell of sexual assault. Lonna Drewes states the California Democrat drugged her drink before raping her in a hotel room in 2018.
Drewes shared her account in a public statement. She alleges the assault occurred after a social event.
Congressman Swalwell has denied the accusation. His office called the claim "completely false."
This is the second such allegation against Swalwell this month. Another woman, Jasmine Lee, accused him of a similar assault in 2015. Swalwell has also denied Lee's account.
The congressman says he will not resign. He has not been charged with any crime.
