Killer Searched "Missing Girl" and "FedEx Truck Cameras" After Kidnapping, FBI Says
A man accused of killing a 7-year-old girl searched online for information about "missing girl" cases and whether FedEx delivery trucks have security cameras. This testimony came from an FBI expert at his trial.
Tanner Horner is charged with the kidnapping and murder of Athena Strand in Texas. Prosecutors say he kidnapped her from her home in November 2022 after delivering a package.
An FBI forensic analyst testified in court. The analyst stated that Horner’s internet searches happened after Athena was taken. The searches included phrases about "missing girl" and questions about FedEx truck camera systems.
Horner was a contract FedEx driver at the time. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The testimony aims to show Horner’s awareness of his crime. It also suggests he was researching how he might be identified after the alleged kidnapping.
The trial continues as prosecutors present their evidence against him.
