Africa countries politics
Every year on April 13, Rwanda holds a special ceremony. It marks the end of a national week of mourning. The event honors 21 politicians. These politicians were killed in 1994. They died because they opposed the genocide targeting the Tutsi ethnic group. The ceremony remembers their bravery. It recognizes that they stood against the violence even at the cost of their lives. Their sacrifice is now a formal part of Rwanda's annual remembrance.
