**Orbán Out: Voters End 16-Year Rule in Historic Turnout**
Hungarian voters have removed Prime Minister Viktor Orbán from power. His right-wing populist party, Fidesz, lost a national election on Sunday. The result ends Orbán's 16 consecutive years as prime minister. Voter participation was the highest seen since the 1990s. This election was widely seen as a referendum on Orbán's leadership. His government has often clashed with the European Union over democratic standards. A new coalition of opposition parties united to defeat Fidesz. They now face the task of forming a new government.
