Syria to UN: Stop Israel's "Repeated Attacks"
Syria's top diplomat has called for urgent United Nations action against Israel. He accuses Israel of launching continuous military strikes on Syrian land. The statement came from Syria's Deputy Foreign Minister, Bassam al-Shaibani. He spoke during a meeting in Amman with Jordan's Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi. Al-Shaibani labeled Israel's actions a clear violation of Syrian sovereignty. He also said they break international law. He specifically condemned Israeli settlement expansion in the occupied Golan Heights. The Syrian government now demands the UN Security Council intervene. The goal is to halt what Damascus calls "repeated Israeli aggressions."
