Rwanda Begins 100 Days of Mourning for 800,000 Lost

Rwanda has started its annual period of national mourning. The solemn commemoration remembers the genocide that killed more than 800,000 people in 1994. The tragedy lasted for 100 days. It began on April 7 of that year. Each year, the country observes 100 days of remembrance. The period is dedicated to honoring the victims and promoting national unity.
