Wounded Hezbollah Commander Reveals Secret War Structure
A senior Hezbollah commander has described the group's new military tactics against Israel in a rare interview. He spoke while recovering from wounds sustained in the ongoing border conflict. The commander, from the secretive Shia Muslim militia, explained to NPR how Hezbollah has restructured its forces. This new command system is decentralized. It allows smaller, independent units to operate along the Lebanon-Israel frontier. This structure, he said, is key to Hezbollah's continued ability to fire rockets into northern Israel almost daily. It makes the militia more resilient and harder to target. The fighting began after Hamas attacked Israel on October 7. Hezbollah opened a second front to support its Palestinian ally. The clashes have displaced tens of thousands of people on both sides of the border. The commander stated that Hezbollah will stop its attacks only with a ceasefire in Gaza. He confirmed the group's coordination with Hamas and other Iran-backed factions.
