Artemis II Crew Returns to Earth, Reunites After Historic Moon Orbit
The four astronauts of NASA's Artemis II mission have safely returned home. They reunited with their families after completing a journey around the Moon. The crew did not land on the lunar surface. Instead, their spacecraft flew a special path, called a lunar orbit, around the Moon. This critical test flight paves the way for future missions aimed at landing astronauts on the Moon again. Artemis II is the first crewed mission in NASA's program to return humans to the Moon. The successful return and reunion mark a major milestone. The mission's data will now be analyzed to prepare for Artemis III, which plans to land astronauts near the lunar South Pole.
