UFO Hotline Reveals Surprising Caller Habit
For over 50 years, Hansjürgen Köhler has volunteered as a UFO investigator in Germany. He approaches each report as a scientific puzzle. But he has noticed a curious pattern among callers.
"Most sightings are reported by people who are outside for an evening cigarette," Köhler says.
He believes this simple habit explains many reports. People who smoke at night are already looking at the sky. They are more likely to spot unusual lights or objects.
Köhler's work involves careful documentation and witness interviews. He tries to find logical explanations, like weather balloons or aircraft. He views his role not just as an investigator, but also as a helper.
"Sometimes, people are truly frightened by what they saw," he explains. "Listening to them and providing a possible answer is a form of caring."
