**Tesla's "Full Self-Driving" Clears First Hurdle in Europe**
Tesla has received Dutch approval to use its advanced driver-assistance features in Europe. This is a major first step for the company.
The system, called "Full Self-Driving" (FSD), is not fully autonomous. It assists with steering, braking, and lane changes but requires constant driver supervision.
The Netherlands' vehicle authority, RDW, approved the software. As the national authority for vehicle type approval, its decision now goes to the European Commission for final authorization across the European Union.
If fully approved, Tesla could roll out FSD to owners in other EU countries. This would mark its first official launch outside North America.
The approval process involves ensuring the system meets strict EU technical and safety regulations. Tesla has not announced a timeline for a potential European release.
