Gaza Officials: UN Claim of 602 Aid Trucks "Incorrect"
Officials in Gaza have publicly rejected a statement from a United Nations peace envoy regarding the volume of aid entering the territory. On Thursday, a UN envoy told the Security Council that 602 aid trucks had entered the Gaza Strip. The Gaza-based Government Media Office has now denied this figure, calling it "incorrect." In a statement, the media office said only 207 trucks in total crossed into Gaza that day. Of those, it stated that just 79 trucks were actually carrying humanitarian aid. The dispute highlights ongoing challenges and conflicting accounts in the delivery of critically needed supplies to the Palestinian enclave.
